I’ve noticed a pattern after a decade of being involved in refurbishments. The same few carpets come back time and time again as a source of inspiration. Customers love them! Aside from more simple textured patterns, I’ve found these carpets to be extremely popular in aviation.

The first is a geometric square boxes pattern made by Tai Ping Carpets. The square design can vary from all-over to a more simple aisle pattern. Most often, it is produced as a white or cream square with a dark brown or black background. You’ll find this carpet in chartered fleets, corporate aircraft, and private owner’s cabins. The dark background color is ideal for durability and longevity while still providing design interest with the lighter squares. 

Another popular selection is called Branches, also designed by Tai Ping. This carpet has a curvilinear organic pattern that leads your eye the length of the cabin. A staple in any aviation designer’s showroom, this pattern has remained timeless, lending itself to be suited for both traditional or modern cabins. 

Lastly, I want to include the carpet design from the recent Dassault Falcon 6X rollout. I’m already hearing about demand from clients for this carpet, and I predict it will become a crowd favorite. This carpet by Tai Ping is a beautiful geometric design that could effortlessly fit into many cabin designs. The pattern can become more striking if you enhance the contrast of the design, or you can keep it more subtle and elegant as Dassault has done. I think it’s beautifully versatile!
